We sent Teams messages to each of the Queen and King candidates requesting they answer the below questions and submit a picture of themselves or their flyer. The below candidates responded. Voting will take place on Thursday, September 26th. This year’s Homecoming theme is “Enchanted Forest”.

Dajah Adams

Fun Fact: I am a dancer here at Proviso East High School.

Describe Yourself: I am nice person that cares about everyone. I am also very dependable.

Activities You Are Interested In or Want to Do: I’m in NJROTC, and I am a PYT.

What Animal Would You Like to Be: I would want to be a dolphin because I have loved them ever sense I was a kid.

What makes you a good candidate: I think I am a good candidate because I would like to speak for those who don’t have enough confidence in themselves.

Why do you want to be Queen or King: I want to be Queen because I want to show people that they can do something they put their mind to.

How are you going to advertise: I am going to print posters, give candy, give glasses, send to all my teachers, etc.

Giselle Munoz

Fun Fact: A interesting fact about me is that I am an aunt of 2 boys and a niece coming on the way.

Describe Yourself: I am a very sweet person and love to help others. I am also passionate and hardworking and focus on my grades and myself.

Activities You Are Interested In or Want to Do: I absolutely love to read books and I love flowers. I’m thinking of starting my own florist business soon so I’m excited for that!

What Animal Would You Like to Be: An animal I would like to be is a leopard. They are so pretty to me and I love their spots and for my homecoming poster, my logo is leopard print and they are just such a beautiful animal to me.

What makes you a good candidate: What makes me a good candidate is I am respectful to the other candidates that are running. Also, I wish them all the best luck. I am a really caring person and make sure no one feels left out. I follow all the school rules and I am respectful to all the workers in Proviso East.

Why do you want to be Queen or King: I want to be Homecoming Queen because I have felt like running since junior year and I know that this is going to be something fun to do and it’s going to make wonderful memories. I am a really kind, respectful and intelligent student and full of positivity. I would be an amazing role model for the underclass students that are thinking of running in the future and for them to know that you always stay confident and never give up and do not care about what other people will think or say about you. Keep on going and always stay positive!

How are you going to advertise: I am going to advertise this is by hanging 20 poster of mine around the school and during spirit week, I will pass out bags that will have cookies, chips and more and will have my own glasses and big poster that says “Vote Giselle for Homecoming Queen!”

Daniel Marquez

Fun Fact: My interesting fun fact about me is I play tennis.

Describe Yourself: I’m 17 years old and a senior in high school, I do NJROTC and I love to serve my unit to become the best of the best and working together. I also love playing sports especially soccer and tennis. I’m so passionate about myself.

Activities You Are Interested In or Want to Do: Soccer and tennis.

What Animal Would You Like to Be: I would love to be a jaguar because I always wanted to be an animal that runs fans and that knows how to live in a daily life.

What makes you a good candidate: Giving examples and especially from my ROTC unit showing my skills and demonstrating how to be a future good person. It makes me a good candidate in my opinion because I focused on myself, it’s never to late to do the right thing and that you can have a good time with yourself.

Why do you want to be Queen or King: I hope I can win King but if I do I want to show them that you can achieve anything in life and that you have to believe in yourself. I also want to tell that I came from a unit that made me feel loved, family, and good times and it was ROTC that made me grew to be a good, confident person.

How are you going to advertise: By putting posters up and teachers presenting me to vote for me.

Janye Stamps

Fun Fact: I am stylish.

Describe Yourself: I am creative. I am also a good leader and influencer.

Activities You Are Interested In or Want to Do: I am the Historian of NHS, Senior rep of Student Council and graphic designer for flyer.

What Animal Would You Like to Be: I wouldn’t be a animal. Ill be a butterfly because they bring luck, and they seem like they live peaceful.

What makes you a good candidate: I am a good candidate because I show school spirit and am very friendly.

Why do you want to be Queen or King: I want to be Queen because I would like to accomplish everything I can my senior year. I also want to be a great representative for my school.

How are you going to advertise: I am advertising through flyers and come get your snacks!

Zaria Thrasher

Fun Fact: I write with my left hand.

Describe Yourself: I would describe myself as a fun and caring person. I am also artistic and creative.

Activities You Are Interested In or Want to Do: I love sports and learning. I’ve played softball, basketball and flag football.

What Animal Would You Like to Be: An elephant because they’re smart and look cool.

What makes you a good candidate: I think I’m a good candidate because I can represent the school through the different activities I do, and I’m always showing up for school events.

Why do you want to be Queen or King: I want to be queen for the fun of it, winning or losing doesn’t matter much to me because I’m doing this for fun.

How are you going to advertise: Talking to my teachers and friends.
